Well, everyone is stressed out with finals.

Everyone else is stressed out over something else.

What a very stressed out world we live.

So,

What CNY in Kuantan has done to me :D

okay, so this year.

in kuantan, we had a cooking competition among all the cousins.
the parents and people of the same rank relaxed while we cook.

well,

or rather while we tried to cook :D

the loving mothers couldn't bear to watch us ruin the kitchen so they did help.

anyway,

my brother and I were a team and our theme was : CHICKEN!

being the over semangat one,

we came up with five varieties @@

  

kicap chicken :)

chicken chop with sweet and sour sauce :) [there was another version with chicken sauce which yours trully forgot to snap a picture of]

steamed mushroom topped with minced chicken and mashed potatoes :D

andddd....

 boiled chicken with thai styled tanghoon :)

this was what the table looked like after everyone placed their dishes :

it was delicious.

there were :

Team Brother and I.

chicken chop (sweet & sour and chicken sauce)

kicap chicken.

steamed mushrooms topped with minced chicken and mashed potatoes.

Post 505 : Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows Part 2

lovely to be able to dedicate such a lovely numbered post to an amazing show.

and with that,

the end of an amazing series that colored so many years of my childhood.

The magic, the friendship, the love and the many many years of good books to read.

and i was glad to be able to share the joy with people who appreciate this series.

this movie was a good mix of tears, laughter and pure entertainment.

kudos to the producer and the cast.

and to JK Rowling,

thanks for making my childhood a more imaginative one.

Enlightenment

So i went for debate practice today,

and it managed to pull me ryt out of my bad mood :)

wheeee~

although there was bad news waiting for me right after.

*to esin and adrian, you guys are AWESOME people and i heart you with all my heart. things will be better,i promise. till then, you have me and shawn to make attempts at making you ppl smile. hugs!*

anyway,

we were given five minutes to come up with a ONE minute speech based on a word.

My word was ENLIGHTENMENT.

Frankly, that word sounded sooooo deep that i wasn't even sure what i should talk about.

but basically, this is a rough idea of my speech.

Hi :)

The word assigned to me tonight is enlightenment.

To me, this means is the discovery of truth.

When the fog clears up and the veil is lifted, you see the clear picture of what reality really is.

Enlightenment is very vital and essential in our lives.

It is something that every individual seeks for,

although most of us do not even realize it.

Only through the discovery of truth, that one can truly live.

I relate to enlightenment in two levels.

On a basic everyday level, enlightenment can mean the comprehension of a simple fact.

For example, when you finally understand what your lecturer said, it is a form of enlightenment.

On a more philosophical and higher level, enlightenment is the true understanding of life.

Before we can achieve this, we have to understand the world around us.

But before we get there, we need to understand ourselves.

And to understand ourselves,

We need to attain inner peace.

How do we do that?

It is by believing that we have the right to have opinions and that it is our right to be heard.

We need to understand that each individual is unique and we do not need to change that.

Once we finally grasp that concept,

we would understand ourselves and then understand the world around us.

Enlightenment of life,is when we realize there is more to the world then material wealth and physical pleasure.

on a totally unrelated note,

the pressure is mounting.

assignments are not as easy as they were in foundation.

tutorials are just this never ending stream =/

and the matter we have to absorb is well,

tough.

went to Liza's place to get the stuff.

She surprised me with 30 bucks instead of the expected 8 bucks.

when me n esin reached the house that called us,

we were shocked they wanted all 5 fans to be cleaned.

they praise our work somemore!

yesterday was like a dream come true.

it was simply magical. :)

i had my drama presentation yesterday.

My group went in with zero expectations.

We just wanted to have fun and do our best,

just to satisfy ourselves and make sure our efforts did not go to waste.

After the endless practices,

repeating the same lines,

doing and redoing the props,

a bit of tears and too much laughter,

a lot of hard work and also slacking, we did it yesterday.

and when teacher commented i felt as if i went to the moon and came back :)

i will write a super detailed post on this later,

its a memory i never want to forget.

on the first day of cny,
i went to jusco ipoh.
and i was walking with my family,people watching.
and there he was.
he was with his mom too but he didn't care.
he turned,he looked at me and he smiled.
a shy tentative smile at first.
then he turned again and tried very hard to catch my eye.
when he did he smile the widest smile i've ever seen.
and he gave me that wonderful smile a couple of times till he lost sight of me.
that boy was two maybe?
and about as tall as my waist.
and he made my day.
cute little chinese new year day boy whom tried to tackle me.
haha.
even pa and ma approved :D

so,

i am very very happy and very very sated.

no i didn't have a diamond ring or a dslr or a new car or an iphone4..

but i had the world :)

or at least everything i wanted from it :)

i had my family with me,

i had them in good health and lotsa laughter.

i had 2 cakes today! thanks to my daddy and my cousin brother.

i had amazing lunch and dinner! thanks to my awesome mummy!

i had lotsa wishes from friends and family and people i love!

i had surprise phone calls and text messages.

i have everything i need :)

THE surprise celebration

So yeah,
On Wednesday night I had the surprise of the year! :D
So too make it sounds interesting yet not too long winded,
I”ll just post up a summary of it.
Yee Sin called at 6.00 to “study accounts”.
the doorbell rang at 7.15-ish while I just came out of the bathroom.
7.20 phone call from Yik Wai came through.
1^st call, all I heard was
“Jess!*insertsextremelynoisesbackgroundshouts*kuai dian xia lai! * insertsextremelynoisesbackgroundshouts*ok?* insertsextremelynoisesbackgroundshouts* ,
yikwai hangs up. @@
I called back and could hear better.
It went something like this
* insertsextremelynoisesbackgroundshouts* jianliang sprained his leg,come down to the swimming pool quick!going to ask heah drive him to hospital! * insertsextremelynoisesbackgroundshouts*
so down I went with yee sin and all I could remember thinking was
“walao eh so cold somemore go and swim.swim dy some can sprain leg one ah? ==”
when I reached the swimming pool they were like carrying him.
and limkuan and aaron heng were like squabbling about who pushed him into the pool.
in short,super chaos.
so I was like,
“Brother,ni okay ma?” and worrying like crazy coz I cudn’t see his face.
and all of a sudden..
